Forcing Motivation From a Creative Surplus

Hi readers!
Welcome back to my unfiltered thoughts via blog post. I thought today I would take a stab at the most frustrating thing in my most recent days, and that is taking my creative flow and turning it into something tangible.

Hi readers! "Long time no see" is probably the most consistent theme I've been able to stick with. Let's start off with some background info. It's been several months since I last touched the blogger login page, and there's a great recipe to explain the reasoning behind this.

Sweater- Thrifted
Bottoms- Vintage Moschino Corduroy Pants
Shoes- Zara Booties
Hat- Beret from France

This look came to me with such ease it was shocking. Usually I spend at least a good 30-45 minutes each day or night before planning my outfit, but today was effortless, and I'm very happy with the result.

I love pairing unlikely silhouettes with one another ever since I've lost more weight. The oversized flow of the sweater paired with the loose fitting pants could have gone very badly, but to my surprise it ended up looking way more polished! I love this sweater because of the wide sleeve and how it gently falls over my hands. It's the perfect fall sweater!

The Moschino pants were also a dream to find. When I went to LA last summer for the GOLF fashion show debut, I stopped by a Goodwill on Fairfax avenue across the way from Supreme.

 Holy shit.

The BEST thrift store I've EVER been to. Everything was designer, or high end retail like Zara or Banana Republic, and super reasonably priced! When I found these pants for $18 I lost my mind. They were in such great condition and fit like a dream. Unfortunately since then I've lost more weight so they don't fit quite like they used to, but nonetheless I still adore this pants. I dread dropping more pounds and having to have to say goodbye to them for good! My shoes are simple heels I've had since the dawn of my fashion upgrade, nothing too special. My beret was a gift from my Mom when she went to France with my Dad, so it's about authentic as it gets!

Thank you to my girlfriend for taking these stellar photos! Make sure to check out her lookbook as well to see the looks she's been putting together... www.lookbook.nu/abreezybeezy

Jacket- MISBHV
Top- Our Life Socks
Skirt- WASIL Clothing
Shoes- Asos

Welcome back!

Today's look was inspired by a last minute design made hastily while getting dressed. I originally made the skirt to pair with a vintage striped pastel sweater, however after finishing the skirt (in ten minutes) I realized that wasn't the look I was seeking... And then this look was born!

I love color blocking with such contrasting tones. The brightness of the pink skirt drew me to want to make a statement as well with the top, immediately drawn to my "Our Life" graphic tee. Since it's getting cold fast in Oakland, I decided to pair it with my MISBHV distressed denim jacket I got at Tyler the Creator's GOLF show in summer 2016. I was able to meet and speak with Natalia of MISBHV and she was such a genuine sweet person! This jacket holds a lot of sentimental value to me, probably why I refuse to remove the tag from the coat... To get some more coverage in the brisk weather I paired the whole look with my thigh high boots from ASOS. I love these boots because ever since losing weight, they fit like a dream and give the illusion I have longer legs!

Denim Confusion

Denim Jacket- Thrifted
Nike Sweater- Thrifted + DIY Alterations
Jeans- WASIL Clothing
Shoes- Winter Premium Air Max 90s

It's a beautiful fall day. The air is crisp like the leaves on the ground, and the sky is the perfect cozy season gloom. Today I was inspired to put together this look with the color palette of the seasonal brisk around me!

To begin, I wanted to shoutout myself for these custom denim jeans. I'll be posting them for sale sometime these week so you too can order your very own pair! I was inspired to make these because of the issue I can never seem to solve: Ripped denim has a shelf life. The more you wear your favorite ripped jeans, the more the jeans wear away at the once small and chic rips, until they turn into gigantic gaping holes. Though I believe there is a time and place for such exaggerated rips, I wanted to create a pair of jeans that maintained the longevity of the rips. So, I ripped up some patched of denim and sewed them onto the pant leg. I used the excess scraps from the shortening of the jeans to make these patches, and then cinched the bottoms to have a slight gather effect. I think these are the star of any outfit and I can't wait to see how much better they begin to look as time passes! For the top I wore a thrifted Nike sweater that I take my scissors to very aggressively, along with my similar to my jeans colored denim jacket. For shoes, as I mentioned being overly matchy is my go to, I wore my girlfriend's suede grey Air Max 90s (she has a killer shoe collection).

That will be all for today, thank you all for reading!

Is it true? Sabrinapugs is back?...With Daily Content?

YES!

Hello everybody! Welcome back to my blog!

Holy shit, has it been a solid minute since I've typed those words. As visible as my outward change appears, everything else in my life has also changed since I last posted on here. For one, I moved out of the parents place back to my home origins, the Bay Area- more specifically Oakland. I've lost 70 or so pounds. I went and have stayed vegan for the last two years or so. I'm living in the most beautiful apartment I could dream of with my lovely girlfriend, Drea, and two dogs, Cyrus and Macie. After two and a half years of struggling to get my shit together I feel like I'm finally in a place where I'm stable. I am pursuing my dreams of starting my clothing brand, WASIL, from the ground up after an unsuccessful initial launch two years ago. I feel so relieved to be back to blogging in all honesty, its something I've greatly missed.

Enough about me! Let's talk about the fit.

For starters I'm wearing my black VANS beanie, my custom made WASIL mock neck tank top, WASIL up-cycled trousers, and some pink classic VANS to top off the look. This fall weather has inspired me to challenge the relaxed casual fashion the Bay Area often sports, so thats why I came out with a BANG! The trousers have a great huge slit on either side of the pant leg outlined with some WASIL logo elastic, elevating the wide leg trouser illusion into a new dimension. For the belt I used some more WASIL elastic to cinch and highlight my waist. For the top I made the semi sheer tank top out of some beautiful light pink cotton stretch fabric, following the trend of the pants with more WASIL elastic lining the neck of the top. I love being "matchy matchy" to the point of being borderline excessive, walking that thin line of "alright enough" and "oh wow so coordinated!" fits is what I've been gravitating towards as of recently. Of course the pink sneaks cannot be ignored, I can't tell you how head over heels I was for these shoes! And then Drea surprised me with them, the true enabler/dream girl. Whenever I wear these out people can't help themselves from complimenting them, and I don't blame them. Not pictured I also added my all black tote to take the look that much farther!

Thank you all so much for tuning into Sabrinapugs again! I appreciate the warm welcome back onto Lookbook, and I'm even more excited to be back into the swing of things!

All the best!

Sabrina ~

Breakfast- My Version of an Acaį Bowl

Basically I took equal parts of mango, pineapple, strawberries, blue berries, and banana, blended it up with some water, and presto! A nice tropical smoothie. As for the toppings- I put on some sliced banana, blue berries, coconut flakes, and chia seed pudding. Chia seed pudding is only three ingredients- Chia seeds, almond milk, and vanilla extract. Mix those all together and refrigerate for an hour and voíla, chia seed pudding! Sprinkle it on top of this little bowl and you've got yourself a nice meal!

Lunch- Veggie Loaded Salad

Here we got a lovely bowl of fantastic greens paired with a savory and sweet balsamic dressing. The dress is equal parts of olive oil to balsamic vinegar, and then 3-4 tablespoons of coconut sugar. The toppings of the salad are on the cutting board: beets, cherry tomatoes, red onion, red cabbage, cucumber, and avocado (bae). The actual salad itself is equal parts of arugula to romaine lettuce (but personally I wish I just used only arugula!). Super light, and surprisingly I could only eat one bowl before I was full and content!

Dinner- Sweet Potato Heaven

http://minimalistbaker.com/mediterranean-baked-sweet-potatoes/

I looooovvveeee sweet potatoes (yams technically). So I looked up a good recipe to prepare them and I came up with this! It's a mediterranean style dish, with a dill sauce, and roasted chickpeas stuffed inside the yams! Here's a link to the recipe if you'd like to try it out yourself. This one is super filling as well! I could only eat half of my portion before giving up and calling it a night.

As for a snack at midnight, I had a serving of cherry tomatoes! My favorite TV watching snack!
