As we all know graphics have been a must have in casual fashion for multiple years. We use them with the combination of a flannel for a casual look, or a structured skirt to put a twist on the more proper silhouettes. But, there are changes coming for the upcoming fall 2015.
Yes, graphics are a classic in fashion, somewhat like denim. It will always be around. However, we see that these more refined and *structured* graphics are coming into play for the upcoming fall. Structure is what 2015 is all about. The fashion industry is drifting from the casual, baggy silhouettes and welcoming the more structured, yet oversized look. I have a deep admiration for this style just because it makes you feel like a runway superstar, while still being comfortable. Structured silhouettes also help with making us bigger girls look slimmer, which is rare in the fashion world for ALL body types to comfortably participate in the latest trends.
I am totally drifting from the point of this post. The real reason is- GRAPHICS. We love them and we wear them constantly, in all types of themes.
I went on Women's Wear Daily online and pulled a few photos from the pre-fall 2015 collections from four different designers. We see above that these graphics are all drastically different. Color blocking, busy print, and reoccurring patterns. What is all the same, interestingly, is the monochromatic/black scheme. I love that the monochromatic and darker colors trend has made a comeback because I honestly am so tired of the neons. They were great for what it was worth, but I am close to retiring my neon yellow Nike Free Runs to the back of my closet. With that being said, neon is going to stick around for the spring/summer season of 2015, so don't jump to conclusions!
The graphics overall are all unique, and these graphics I'm sure will be popping up all over fast fashion stores (Forever 21, H&M, Urban Outfitters), if they haven't already. My suggestion? If you're thinking about buying that busy neon floral or geometric blouse, try gravitating towards a grid blouse or a black and white color blocking blouse.
Stay well dressed everyone :-)
***DISCLAIMER***
I am not a fashion "God", so if you feel like buying something that isn't cohesive with what I just said, do it! I am simply just reporting on the trend. I am a strong advocate for wearing what you want, however you want. Don't ever let anyone tell you you cannot wear what you like, ever.
