IT FINALLY HAPPENED!
I AM A NEW PROUD OWNER OF THE CANON EF 40MM F/2.8 STM LENS!!!
I got this lens as a birthday present from my family (Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister) and I am so beyond thankful! I have wanted a macro lens that did well with blog shooting for quite some time now and I have finally found that lens! Originally I was looking at the 35mm f/1.8 lens by Canon, however it was upwards of $800. I just happened to be in Best Buy and I always take a look at their lenses and I found this beauty! For $199 I thought it was a steal, but I had to test it out before I decided to keep it. The Best Buy lady gladly let me purchase it to try out and if I didn't like it after a few days I could return it, no restocking fees!
So here are the pictures my mom took of myself at about 5 PM!
Not too shabby huh? Huh? I didn't think so either! For $200 I decided to keep this little guy. It's so functional for macro pictures as well as outfit pictures so I couldn't resist. Sorry 35mm, nearly $1,000 just doesn't seem to be justified with this lil guy!
Now I am no camera expert so do not take everything I say as an expert opinion, because I am just a girl who saved up for a long time to get a nice camera.
If you guys were wondering the camera body I used for this picture above was the Canon 60D. I bought this camera three years ago *with my own money* and it had only came with a kit lens which I have been fine using- however this is just a tad of an upgrade that makes me oh so happy!
I just wanted to share with you all the news and explain why the photo quality is taking a big leap :-) SO excited to shoot tomorrow in broad day light!!!
